“I grew up in a small town called Ambala. My father was an Engineer. We were a very middle class family. I remember even now, when ‘Power’ came out with sports shoes, they cost Rs.299/-. It took me 6 months to save up enough money to buy those shows. Even had to sell my old shoes to be able to afford them. But it taught me a valuable lesson – anything can be achieved when we put our mind to it.
To use your Mind to the full potential: It is important to take responsibility for our mistakes. Realise it, own up to it and move on. Too many people today shy away from this responsibility. It is when we are able to look at ourselves critically, that we build character and grow.
I am the first employee of BIG BAZAAR Stores and went on to grow it to 5000crores; today is it about 9000crores. Since then I have moved and now am the President for the 1200crore E-ZONE electronics.
